Illustration special: Festive Food

Not sure what to give your friends and family this holiday season? During this illustration workshop, we'll draw, eat and let our favourite dishes come to life in a festive card or illustration. The perfect personalized gift! The day starts with fun drawing warm-ups and collage exercises. We experiment with shapes, facial expressions, and colours to bring our food to life. In Japan, food characters are everywhere—in advertising, animation, and pop culture. Think Gudetama, Anpanman, or To-Fu Oyako. Guided by illustrator Ming Yue, who studied for years in Japan, we’ll explore this unique visual culture.  Afterwards we’ll share a cozy lunch (potluck-style, everyone brings something tasty to share!) and use this scene as an inspiration for our final exercise in which we’ll design our own holiday card or festive illustration based on food.
