Creative Encounters: A Live Conversation

Theme #1: Belonging & Identity Who are we, really? Where do we feel we belong? Is identity fixed? Creative Encounters Conversations invite participants to slow down and think together, using art as a language to explore meaning-making and how we relate to ourselves and others. The format is simple and participatory, inspired by a selection of art books from the Muntpunt collection. This isn’t a lecture but a shared moment of curiosity, creativity, and dialogue. You don’t need to be an expert on art or an artist to join, just creatively curious about the topic. Founded by art writer and avid gallivanter Chibuye, ARt Gallivant explores how art opens up conversations about world-making. The live series is an extension of her podcast Creative Encounters, where she speaks with artists about their practice and how it reflects their worlds. Each conversation is supported by a set of ARt Gallivant conversation cards drawn from Muntpunt’s collection, offering participants tangible prompts for reflection. In this edition, we’ll discuss belonging and identity, not just individually, but as shared expressions of community often mirrored in the work of artists.
