In this bookclub we'll discuss I'm a fan by Sheena Patel. The session will be hosted by Maureen and the discussion will be in English.
Looking up at my bookshelf, I’m a Fan by Sheena Patel is rubbing shoulders with kindred female rage novels, the likes of Nightbitch, My Year of Rest and Relaxation and My Sister the Serial Killer. I’m A Fan is a fast-paced string of short and incisive chapters centred around the unnamed narrator’s one-sided relationship with “the man I want to be with” and “the woman I am obsessed with.” Discussing a range of topics such as obsession, contemporary dating, social media, race and class, I’m a Fan is unapologetic, unfiltered and uncompromising: the perfect book club novel!
